Mohammed Omran graduated from Cairo University in electronics and telecommunications in 1977, becoming one of the first Emirati telecom engineers. Presently he is the Chairman of the boards of RAKBANK, Ras Al Khaimah Properties, American University of Ras Al Khaimah and Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University. Previously, he has held board and management positions at several organisations, including the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), Emirates Foundation, Khalifa University of Science Technology and Research, UAE Banks Federation, Thuraya Telecommunications and Higher Colleges of Technology.
